Jim Langford, Project Executive with Linger Longer Communities, reviews the proposed plan for the revitalization of Jekyll Island, Ga. at a public input session at the Cobb Galleria Center on November 20. The public input sessions gave Georgians the opportunity to see and comment on the new beach village, accommodations and retail proposed by Linger Longer, the private partner selected by the Jekyll Island Authority. Known as "Georgia's Jewel," Jekyll Island is a state-owned barrier island designated as a state park. In this first of five parts, Langford reviews the island's history and the need for revitalization on the island.
