Economic Impact

The revitalization project will have a significant impact on Glynn County and the State of Georgia. Projections include:

• More than 500 construction jobs over the course of the project totaling almost $37 million in payroll.
• Close to 550 permanent jobs in the new hotels and commercial district with an estimated payroll of more than $9 million annually.
• New accommodations that will generate an estimated $13 million in hotel/motel taxes and nearly $50 million in sales tax revenue over the first 10 years.
• Construction of new buildings will result in $28.5 million in new tax revenue.
• More than $350 million in private funds will be invested in the revitalization project.
