Maxxis Bighorns for Off Road Used

Sheep are a mud terrain tire Maxxis has been around for several years. Previous field mud tires were known as Maxxis Maxxis buckshot. Maxxis have already shown that their tires are shiny racing cars and quads, either there is no reason to expect a large 4×4 kick to drive a 4×4 in the mud! I bought five sheep Maxxis, My Hilux for about a year now, and I was using both road and mountain biking on the beach, dunes, rocks and mud.
What pressure should I run to my sheep?
This is largely determined by the weight of your vehicle and the terrain you are driving. For road use, Maxxis bighorns have a maximum score of 35 psi. In general, the wider the tire you have in your car the less pressure you need on the road. Of course, you should check and test what works best. I have my Maxxis 30 PSI on the road (being a light and are therefore Hilux 30). On the beach, they usually fall to 15 psi, but I will not hesitate to drop to 10 if I’m wrong in the soft sand. If I’m just driving on ice or mud, which generally do them down to about 18 PSI. Of course, if your car is heavier than you might
need to keep pumping even more, but just do research and experiment to see what works. Driving to the beach, between 15 and 18 PSI of pressure in general on the right to four drives over the wheel.
The biggest mistake you see people do is not to drop when the tires are off the road. This is particularly important when driving on sand, which greatly increases its footprint, and make your car float on the surface of the sand instead of digging down. If you tire pumped tight, so they tend to dig and dig holes. When you drive through the bush, it is much easier to get a puncture in the tire if they work at high pressure. You can take a normal balloon is not pumped a lot and push it into a sharp rock (with care) and will not explode. Get the same ball and pump that tight, and open the second you touch the rock. It’s really the same principle with the tires and leave until the correct pressure will save you money long term.
Maxxis Bighorns If any good in the sand?
Some people find that mud tires work better than standard tires in the sand, and others find the opposite. The fact is that with Maxxis bighorns, do not fight on the beach. My computer is 12.5 inches wide, which gives them a slightly larger footprint anyway. The trick with these tires is sufficient to operate effectively. If that means letting the right to 15 pounds, so be it. He seems to love to dig holes (due to the aggressive tread), but they tend to pass through the soft sand. Be sure to stop at a security level that does not overwork his car.
You can get blocks of accounts, which will prevent this, but represents an additional expense and may not be illegal where they live to drive on the road. If you are a big driver of sand, then maybe buying a set of all the land would be a better idea. However, in terms of a compromise between a tire that is exceptionally good in the mud and rocks, Maxxis bighorns do very well.
What is the pressure that I can get to if I need?
Have not given up my tires to anything below 10 PSI. If you really need it, you could probably safely get off at 5 PSI out of a sticky situation. It is not drive so long without freezing of accounts, ensure that pump the tires a bit once you’re out of boredom. Always remember that if you’re really in trouble, a set of tires is probably worth less than the value of your car. If the tide is rising, then break a set of tires in general is worth getting out of trouble! I always advise having a full set of questions or shade cloth to help you in the soft sand anyway. Make sure you have an air compressor good car when you have completed four-wheel drive.
Do you get?
I heard people say that Maxxis bighorns about 80,000 km. I did a little over 17,000 in my Maxxis Bighorns, and I spent very little. The news, coming with 14.5 mm of tread, and mine was still about 12 mm to the left. My team are trying to evne more than 80,000 km, which is awesome! Of course, if you drive a purely off-road, then obviously wear out faster. It also depends on how you drive. If you like spinning your wheels on the rocks and quickly removed the lights, it will not last that long.
Something very eastern edge of the tire rotation. When you spend over a thousand dollars in the rubber, which wants to ensure they will last as long as possible. I even include my spare tire in the rotation, because otherwise you end up with a new tire in a few years of hard rubber and a tire that is not reliable anyway. You can also use it, and included in the rotation. Most regularly rotate the tires as in the past, but is between 5,000 and 10,000 have no problem.
Tire rotation:
Normally, I turn to the right side right back. The right side goes to the spare wheel. The replacement will be the front left and front left is going to the left rear. The left back to the front right, and after five rotations are back at home. Different people have different opinions about the best way to do it, so make sure you do your research. In general, just make sure that the tires are not in the same place for long, because they spend a lot faster if they do.
How strong Maxxis Bighorns?
Regarding the classification of the sidewall, which are not as strong as some tires, you can buy today. I would say that if we take a journey through Australia, may find other tires that Maxxis bighorn sheep (depending on where it goes). In saying this, one never tires low. I only damaged one hand, when a rock album in my tire and a flat tire a bit. Put two slices through the rubber, but not leaking. The next frame grabbers work, and especially on slippery rocks or clay.
Price Maxxis Bighorn
Maxxis sheep are very cheap compared to other brands. They are not the tires mud terrain, but they are definitely on the decline in prices. More expensive, including tires BFG Goodrich scrambles, Goodyear Wrangler and Cooper STT. Although these may be good tires, which are much more expensive. I bought my 5 Maxxis (33 x 12.5inch tires) for himself as a friend bought smaller clouds Cooper STT. Is a point of saving enough, but entirely on what you need for the manufacture of rubber.
Compare Maxxis Bighorn
Earlier this year, the Action Team 4×4 Australia made a comparison of the Mud-Terrain tires. All you really missed was the wear after several thousand miles, but none of the tires that were tested were damaged. The number one winner was the new BFG Goodrich mud, and the second was the Maxxis Bighorn. By taking into account a number of factors such as braking, handling, noise, sand, mud and rocks driving, and some pieces of other parts. They have a really good performance.
What is the best place to get them?
It depends largely on where you live, but you can visit Bob Jane, Ian Diffen and several other places. I think the Maxxis tires offer and are not normally capable of self-actions, but are generally more expensive. Just shop around and find the best price, then take someone you know and see if they’ll win. I paid just under $ 300 each for my 33 x 12.5 Maxxis Bighorns, but you should be able to get a little less if you look around. The cheapest place for these great tires eBay.
Maxxis Bighorns so good?
My view is that these tires are great value for money. If one considers the large price difference, and bring them to leave, they are very good. I like the fact that they are great in the mud, they look good and not break your wallet to get together. In fact, I made the same amount for my tires as my father did for a set of road tires for normal Montero, and they will do more miles than her! Regarding the comparison of 4×4 accessories and they mounted the tire, I made a good decision to get the Maxxis. In fact, if you look around for further reviews in the four forums Maxxis Bighorns traction, almost everyone says they are of great value. My next set of tires will certainly be a set of Maxxis bighorns.
